About Us
Who we are:
The Edwards Queer Students’ Society was established in 2021 at the Edwards School of Business to provide a welcoming and safe environment where our 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty can live their authentic selves.
We host events to bring together an inclusive community within Edwards, and use these events to highlight important topics surrounding the 2SLGBTQ+ community and educate our members and attendees.
We welcome all USask students to join us in building a more welcoming, accepting, and inclusive Edwards community for all 2SLGBTQ+ students through intentional and meaningful engagement.
Annual Report
Welcome to the Annual Report of the EQSS! We are excited to share our accomplishments and milestones from the 2022/23 school year.
As a student-led organization, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive community for queer students in Edwards. In our first year, we have expanded our reach and impact, and we are proud to say that we have achieved several goals we set for ourselves.
We organized a number of events, including networking opportunities with queer professionals and allies, workshops focused on empowering and educating queer students, and social events to bring the community together.
We are grateful for the support of our members, sponsors, and partners, who have helped us achieve our goals and make a difference in the lives of queer business students. We are excited to continue our work and build on our successes in the coming year. Thank you!

Solar Mangila (he/they)
Head of Marketing & Communications
Hi, hi!! I'm Solar, pronouns he/they, and I'm so very super mega excited to be the Head of Marketing for EQSS this year!! I've been in this cute little club since the beginning and last year I had the pleasure of organizing our first ever (!!!) gala with my dear friend Meadow (current Head of Events). The EQSS has become my safe space as a fem-presenting nonbinary transmasc. I hope to make it so for other students like me to express and love themselves without fear, shame, or any other sort of hesitancy. About me now- I love all things fashion and makeup, metal and alt-music, and cozy games like Minecraft and Stardew. If you see me in the halls or in class, say hi!! I'm more scared of you than you are of me, promise :)))
Sarah Stener (she/her)
Head of Strategy & Logistics
Hi everyone, I’m Sarah!! I’m a fourth-year student majoring in SCM, and I’m also the EQSS’s first straight cis head (but I’m being so brave about it). This is my second year on the EQSS and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish this year! I’m super ready to be strategicy and logisticsy. One thing about me is that I love party rocking and I am not sorry about it. Don’t be a stranger!
Meadow Coates (she/her)
Head of Events
Hey! I’m Meadow (she/her), and I’m Head of Events on the Edwards Queer Students’ Society this year! I’m super excited for all the great events, initiatives, and advocacy we’ve got going on! When I’m not working on my variety of extracurriculars, you can usually find me studying with an iced coffee or working on my newest hobby - I go through quite a few. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or say hi in the hallway!
Saurav Budhathoki (he/him)
Head of Finance
Heyy I am Saurav Budhathoki, my pronouns are He/Him. I am a 4th year accounting major. My hobbies includes camping, hiking and everything outdoorsy during the summer, and binge watching TV shows during the winter. I also like trying out new resturants whenever i get a chance.
